Nowra Athletics Club began in 1960
The Club offers athletics to people of all ages and ability within the Shoalhaven. We are a proud family club, encouraging participation at all stages of life. We cater for beginners, for people who are simply interested in maintaining their fitness and may not have a desire to participate in competitive events to athletes with Olympian aspirations.
Nowra Athletics Club was Accredited in the Good Sports Program on the 15th May 2008.
The Club offers a variety of athletic programs throughout the year including Track and Field, Cross Country Running and Social Running.
TRACK AND FIELD COMPETITION
Since 1960 Nowra Athletics Club has been offering Track and Field competition for athletes of all ages – tiny tots to master’s athletes – and all abilities. It’s a perfect way to spend time with the family whilst participating in friendly athletic competition. If you enjoy jumping, throwing and running, we have it all.
Track and Field is conducted each Wednesday night, September – March at Shoalhaven High School from 6pm.
CROSS COUNTRY COMPETITION
Cross Country competition is conducted during Autumn/Winter on Saturday afternoons at various venues around the Shoalhaven, catering for all ages and abilities, with handicap start times. A variety of distances are offered – 1km, 2km, 3km, 5km, 10km.
SUMMER SOCIAL WALK/RUN PROGRAM
Our Summer Social Walk/Runs are a great way to spend an evening enjoying a social run or walk, over approximately 6kms. Summer Social Walk/Runs are conducted on Friday evenings during Summer at various locations around the Shoalhaven.
SOCIAL CONNECTIONS
Many club members meet informally for weekly runs. If you are interested in joining a run, just ask a committee for details.
COMPETITIVE OPPORTUNITIES
Nowra Athletics Club actively encourages and supports athletes to participate in individual and team events, outside of Club events.

Coaching and Training
Nowra Athletics Club recognises the importance of coaching and encourages all members who wish to develop their abilities to consider making contact with a coach in the discipline of their choice. We have several coaches associated with our Club. For example; Rob McDonald is a Level 3 coach of middle and long distances. You can contact him on 0438 824 763 or at rmcd2173@bigpond.net.au for further information.
There are also many experienced athletes in our Club who are always willing to provide guidance and advice to athletes.
