Membership fees for 2026/27
We know that the cost of living continues to put pressure on families, and we remain committed to keeping athletics as affordable and accessible as possible.
Our registration fees have remained unchanged since the 2023/2024 season, with the Club choosing to maintain the same fees for the past two seasons despite increasing costs. For the 2026/2027 season, a fee increase is necessary to help us continue to operate sustainably and support the athletes, families and volunteers who make our Club what it is.
This year, NSW Athletics has increased its registration component by $8 per athlete. Nowra Athletics Club has kept our own increase to a maximum of $12.50, which helps cover the rising costs of running the Club as well as administration fees associated with NSW Athletics registrations.
Please note that our registration fees are made up of the NSW Athletics set component plus a Club fee. Registration fees are the Club’s only source of income and help us provide equipment, facilities, competition opportunities and a great experience for our athletes throughout the season.
Our youngest athletes remain a priority. We have not added any Club fee to the cost of our youngest athletes. The $78 fee for children born in 2022 or younger, and the $98 fee for children born in 2020, is set entirely by NSW Athletics, meaning the Club receives no income from these registrations. We are proud to keep entry to athletics as accessible as possible for our youngest members and encourage them to enjoy the sport for many years to come.
For junior athletes from 7 years through to 16 years, the Club fee component is just $32.50.
There is no registration fee for parent helpers, volunteers, administrators, NSW Athletics Life members, NSW officials, and NSW accredited coaches.
We greatly appreciate the ongoing support of our members and families. Every registration helps keep Nowra Athletics Club strong and enables us to continue providing opportunities for athletes of all ages and abilities.
If you are experiencing genuine financial hardship and would like to discuss your registration, please reach out to the Club. We are always happy to have a confidential conversation.

Age groups
Age groups for membership categories/costs are determined by NSW Athletics. All athletes, both in NSW and nationally, compete in age groups based on year of birth.
Age groups for NSW Athletics competition are based on being under the specific age on 31 December in the calendar year in which the NSW Athletics summer season commences.
For example:
6s mean five years of age as at midnight on 31 December that year
7s mean six years of age as at midnight on 31 December that year…etc
U20’s means seventeen or eighteen years of age as at midnight on 31 December that year.
See more information about age groups in the Rules of Competition.

Open & Masters Age Groups
Master’s age groups will be determined as per the first day of competition, as per World Masters Athletics rules.
Multi-Club Membership Policy
The Multi-Club Membership Policy enables athletes to hold membership with 2 Clubs. If an eligible athlete wishes to be a member of a second Club, they will be required to submit an online expression of interest form for validation and approval by staff. The Expression of Interest Form can be found here.

Club Uniform
Local Club Competitions: Wearing the Club uniform is optional at our local Club competitions — although we do love to see our athletes proudly sporting the black and gold!
Representative Events: The Club uniform is mandatory for all NSW Athletics, State, Championship, and Team events. Athletes must wear either the club singlet or crop top, paired with plain black shorts, tights, or bike pants (preferably without prominent branding).
Uniform Compliance: As per NSW Athletics policy, athletes not in correct club uniform will not be permitted to start unless they have received prior dispensation from the General Manager – Sport Delivery (or delegate).
- If a uniform issue is identified after a race has started, the athlete will receive a warning on the first offence.
- A second offence will result in disqualification, which may be applied retrospectively.
Financial Assistance Obligations: Athletes who apply for or receive financial support from the Club are expected to wear the Club uniform at all representative or organised athletics events, unless they are required to wear a State or National uniform in line with event regulations.
The Committee retains the discretion to decline financial assistance for Open National Competitions or major meets if an athlete fails to meet this uniform requirement. We believe that when financial assistance is provided, it’s only fair that the supporting Club is visibly recognised.
Uniform Sales: The Club has a NEW DryLyte Racer Back Singlet! It is lightweight, breathable and built for performance!
We have a limited supply of these singlets in stock. Talk to a committee member if you’d like to try one on for size. If we don’t have your size, we can place an order for you.

For other uniform pieces, please see our uniform stock at the Shoalhaven High School grounds, or order online at Sports Magic.
