| How to Use Your Browser to get Cancellation Messages. After updating the Nowra Athletic Club website to let members know that the athletics were cancelled last week & in previous weeks some people tell me that it was not on the Home Page in their computer. I suspect that they do not understand how the Browser (Internet Explorer - if Microsoft) operates in relation to their computer and a website. If you click Start > Internet button, the browser Home page appears for you to Go to the Website. If you go to the club website at say 4.15pm and down load a home page that has no Athletics Cancellation message on it, your computer will keep this page in it's memory while ever the browser is left active. If I update the Home Page to include a Cancellation Message and put it on the website at say 4.20pm your computer will not down load the update automatically while you have the older 4.15pm Home Page in your computers memory. In fact, if you go to my favorites or retype the address and click the green go to arrow, the computer will still show you the 4.15pm Home Page that is still in it's memory. ( Note: this applies to all websites not just this website) I suspect this is happening when people tell me the Cancellation Message is not on the website when viewed on their computer monitor. If you go to the website and find no message and leave the browser connected to a website, to get an updated home page later, click the Refresh Button. It takes the place of the green go to button when on a website and has two circular arrows . Each time you use the Refresh Button the computer ignores the old home page in it’s memory and Of course, if you close the browser down, and then reopen it, this removes the web pages from memory and you can go back to the Website using the address and go to arrow to get the latest version.
