President: Kevyn Davis Secretary: Jan Gibb ~ 30 Flannery Lane Tapitallee 2540 Ph/Fax: 4446 0226 Email : willandraemail@gmail.comABN : 36211377192 Dear Athlete / Athletes, 2010 is now into the final month and unfortunately as you would be aware, our club has only completed 5 Rounds of competition due to an athletics track that cannot cope with the excessive amount of rain we have been experiencing over the past seven weeks ! In my 28 years as secretary I don’t recall missing so many weeks of competition and the forecast certainly isn’t very promising for the next couple of weeks. Club activities for 2010 are scheduled to conclude on Wednesday 15th. December and resume again on January 5th 2011 ~ WEATHER PERMITTING !!. As mentioned in our publicity articles, more information on the Annual Country Track & Field Championships would be circulated. Country Championships are the highlight of the year for all Country Clubs within NSW. The 2011 Championships are being conducted at Hunter Sports Centre, Glendale (suburb of Newcastle) on Saturday & Sunday 22nd.& 23rd. January. If you are relatively new to Club, or have not / have attended Country Championships previously, I encourage you to think seriously about entering and participating in this great weekend. Despite the lack of competition since T & F started this year, most other Country areas in NSW have also been experiencing the same ‘wet’ conditions hampering training etc. so we are not alone. Instead, take the opportunity of what Country Championships can offer you …. great competition on a synthetic track…… (rain, hail or shine) …. great friendly atmosphere, and a great time mixing with other ‘like minded’ country athletes !!! To check out the rules & Draft Timetable Grid showing the wide range of events & age groups, Please use the following link: To encourage participation the Club will cover the cost of each athletes first event ($18). The second & subsequent events are the athletes responsibility ~ $8 per event. To take advantage of this offer athletes must either inform me of the events they wish to compete in OR post / hand Entry Forms to me NO LATER than December 20th To download & print out the Entry Form, follow link on our Club webpage in Patrons Epistle. Entries will be delivered to ANSW Office in bulk, with a Club cheque to cover the total amount. All individuals / families will receive an invoice for amount owing for additional $8 events. In addition to entry costs, the Club also has a policy where travel is involved to Country Championships, to subsidise members with accommodation / travel costs. IMPORTANT to NOTE: Athletes interested in competing who have not been issued with current ANSW Registration Numbers (from October this year) or who require a club uniform, are requested to let me know ASAP. Relay Teams in the various age categories will be selected when entries have been returned. Athletes involved will be informed. – All Relay entry costs are covered by the club. As the Winter Season is fast approaching the following information is important if you wish to compete. COSTS to cover Winter Competition are as follows: I 9yrs & Under $10 20yrs & over - $20 Family Maximum - $40 Time slot for Payment at XC is strictly from 1.30 - 2.15pm (Application Forms are not required ) Winter fees must be paid within two weeks of competing.
Our AGM and Presentation Evening will be held on Saturday 24th. April. The venue this year will be the Assembly Hall, NORTH NOWRA Public School, Page Ave. Nth Nowra at 730pm All athletes who are eligible for awards from the 2009/10 season will receive notification early in April. For entertainment, we are again anticipating showing some highlights from competitions throughout the year. The evening will conclude with supper.
