The evening will consist of a slightly different format with some Surprise Events - Presentation of Certificates for all ‘New Records’ and a Free Sausage Sizzle etc. Country Championships As mentioned in our handout program and publicity article, more information on the Annual Country Track & Field Championships would be circulated. The 2009 Championships are being conducted at Campbelltown Athletic Centre on Saturday & Sunday 24th. & 25th. January. If you are relatively new to Club Competition or have not attended Country Championships previously, I encourage you to think seriously about entering and participating in this great weekend. Talk to other members who have attended and I am sure you’ll be convinced. Country Championships offer you …. great competition on a synthetic track…… great friendly atmosphere, and a great time mixing with other ‘like minded’ country athletes !!!

This cost is the athletes responsibility, payable when Entry Forms are returned. However, in addition to this, families will be reimbursed $100 towards the cost of shared / family / individual / Motel accommodation. For athletes choosing to travel both days from home to the venue, fuel expenses will also be subsidised
COMPETITION for 2009 Club will resume on Wednesday 7th January. This will allow athletes attending the Country Championships three weeks to sharpen up after the Christmas – New year parties and over indulgence ! Hopefully, competition format for January to March will be available by 17th. December. If you have any questions concerning any aspect of the club, please do not hesitate to call. Ph: 44 460226 …… Regards, Jan Gibb.

| Info You Need to Know As 2007 is almost into the final month, I take this opportunity to thank you for your Participation & Performances over the past couple of months. Your enthusiasm & attendance (when the weather has co-operated !) has contributed to producing excellent evenings of great competition in 'All Grades & Divisions.' As you would all be aware, by the colour of my hair, I have been around for many years and I can honestly say this has been 'one of the best' Graded Pointscore Series I can remember for many years, in both track & field events. So to everyone who has contributed - "CONGRATULATIONS". However, we still have two Rounds of competition left in our Pointscore and more importantly, both these Rounds are required to conclude the Country Club Premiership Competition. (Just in case you haven't looked up these results on our website, follow the link - and check out your name amongst the 100 or so other Country Athletes in the various events you compete in). Remember, this includes athletes of all ages & abilities!! After Round 1 Nowra is placed 2nd in the Points tally, out of the nine clubs. It would be great if we could hold this position - but we certainly need YOUR PARTICIPATION !!! Even if you are not an official squad member, your efforts push others to perform, so your attendance is also important! Please make every effort to compete both evenings. Next Wednesday, November 28th the events are 1OOm, 400m, 1500m, Medley Relays, Javelin & High Jump. The Final Round, December 5th, the events are 200m, 800m, 3000m, 4 x 1OOm Relays, Long Jump, Discus & Javelin. Hopefully the weather will be in our favour. Because of track renovations, "top dressing" etc. we will be concluding Club activities for 2007 on Wednesday 12th, December. This evening will consist of Surprise Events - Special Awards - Certificates for all "New Records" - Free Sausage Sizzle etc. One of the surprise events will be a Mini Medley Relay Challenge - Teams of 5 runners cover 800m around the track - Organize a team now, put out the challenge, teams in the following age groups, l2yrs&under, l3to34yrs, 35yrs & over. Who will be our Champion Mini Medley Teams for 2007 ... ??? Jan Gibb (Club Secretary)

| Nowra Athletics Club Inc. Running Bulletin Winter ‘Wind Down’ As the 2007 Winter Season ‘winds down’ I take this opportunity to thank ALL who have taken part over the past few months and hope you have thoroughly enjoyed the Competition the Courses & the Company of Cross Country 2007. Most Divisions, even to the final Round, were extremely competitive. The desire to excel and improve is indeed a very healthy attitude within our club. To the winners of the major places in the Pointscore, Congratulations, consistency, determination & improvement have earned you these positions, just slightly ahead of your rivals. To the majority who fill the minor placings, Well Done your efforts have produced the end results, for without your involvement and participation, the cormpetition would not have been very interesting! My very sincere thanks to all who have contributed in ways other than competing, nevertheless very necessary for the Winter competition. This includes our timekeepers, place ticket handlers, recorders & course officials. Highlights of the season include the ‘Country Classic’ once again being a great success, plus the outstanding effort & participation of Club members in both State Relay Championships. All who competed &/or assisted at these events can be justly proud, and please be assured your involvement was noted. “THANK YOU. Summer ‘Round Up’ Track & Field Season, weather permitting, begins on Wednesday evening, September 12th from 5.3Opm at our Athletics Track in Park Rd (Behind the Shoalhaven High School). If you have enjoyed winter running, why not continue for the Summer Season? We have a lot to offer, for a very reasonable fee to continue your membership, you can compete in Track & Field Competition and / or the Summer Road Running Series. As with Cross Country, Track & Field does not require any special qualifications. Just a desire to ‘Give it a Go - Run, Jump or Throw’. If you are of the opinion Track & Field is only for ‘Little Athletes’ you are very mistaken. Last year our mums & dads grades were on equal par with the younger age groups!! Alternatively, if I can’t convince you to compete, would you seriously consider lending a hand with simple tasks required for T&F competition to operate.? Just a couple of hours at the very most on Wednesday evenings (6pm — 8pm) is all we require. Please speak to someone on the Committee if you are interested. Thank you once again for your contribution to the Winter Comp. 2007 Jan Gibb
